The MEDICI Collection
At MEDICI Urgent Care and Wellness Center, our space was specifically cultivated to remove the feel of a traditional medical office. We designed our space to have an art gallery aesthetic. The WHO published the “Health Evidence Synthesis Report” in 2019, which showed that all forms of art can be beneficial for health and wellness. Our founder and medical director, Dr. Mboh Elango, has been an avid collector of contemporary art from his home continent of Africa and the diaspora for over 30 years. It is a passion he inherited from his mother and shares with his siblings. The art was carefully selected from parts of “The Elango Collection.” Featured artists include world-renowned Cameroonian artist, Max Lyonga; Nigerian artist, Erikan Ekefrey, whose unique style and art pedigree are unparalleled; and Senegalese artist and musician, Cheik Tidiane Keita. All of it was curated to provide a sensory and visual experience, a retreat from the quotidian.
